OPEN SHEDS
December 2004
December Meeting Details
When: Saturday, December 18th 5 pm to 7 pm
Location: Burritt Museum's Balch House
Activity: Potluck Dinner
What to Bring: Dish to Share
Meeting Details:
Join us for a fun evening at the Burritt! There will be a live Christmas tree in the parlor, a fireplace and wood stove,
lit by oil lamps and all decorated for Christmas. Even with the fires, the house can be chilly, so this is a great chance
to wear some of those wonderful warm wooly sweaters! There will be a limited number of electrical outlets but no microwave
oven. If you want to carpool, please contact Beth Bowman by phone or email, and she will do her best to coordinate.
President's Message:
This month some of our members have lost family. Betty Whitt's husband passed away, and Alison Zajicek lost her father.
I know you all join me in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.
I'm sure you are all as busy as I am at this time of the year. I enjoy making gifts for many of my family members,
so this year I have some hats and scarves to send out. Thanks to the dye days at Emily's and Alison's house the last two
summers, I am enjoying tie-dyeing silk scarves. I have also been knitting hats from Anna Zilboorg's "Fine & Fanciful
Hats to Knit".
Looking forward to our December meeting, we have decided to try something different. We will hold a potluck dinner
the evening of December 18 at the Burritt in the Balch House in the historic park area. Please bring a dish to share and
serving utensils. If you would like to carpool, please contact me by phone or email and let me know if you want a ride or
are willing to drive.
Finally, please register now for the February spinning workshop, "Variations on a Draw" with Paula Vester.
There are a limited number of spaces. I know I am looking forward to it! For more information, please see our website:
